Holding My Breath

It’s been windy and warm, windy and cold and well, windy. Dry too. Hopefully, the forecasted rain later this week will let our volunteer firefighters get a little rest and family time.

Occasionally, I go through the footage of my granddaughter, Kinzie and the various sports she has participated in through the past few years. She was so good at softball, I had hoped that we could get her a college scholarship with her talent and my videos. She is grown and on her own now but there are still plenty of sports videos to post. I recently posted a video of her cheer leading days at Coffeyville Community College. This video was difficult for a grandma to edit and post as she was nearly dropped too many times. I held my breath so much, it took me awhile to be able to breathe properly, both after watching it live and then in the editing process. Iowa Western Cheer, Football Season can be seen here.

Life in divorce court continues to drag on, and continues to be interesting. Someday, I plan to be able to elaborate.

I posted an audio only podcast for Books Highlighted. I learned a significant amount in this book and would highly recommend it. This is the link to it though my Amazon affiliation; https://amzn.to/4s2Cx1c . I think you’ll find this is an excellent book to help guide you in a better prayer relationship with God. The podcast of my highlighted portions can be heard here.

My job as the town clerk is changing as the current mayor is in the process of moving away. He was a very hands-on mayor and now I’m having to quickly learn what my new duties will be. One exciting and a little terrifying thing I will be doing is giving a short speech at the start of the half marathon Andy Payne race here in Foyil. It’s one thing to have the gift of gab and another to give a coherent, entertaining speech. Pray for me!

Yesterday, we had a work day at the church. Several were cleaning the chairs and walls of the sanctuary. I got to help another man tighten the screws on all 200 chairs. I admit. I much preferred to wield a screw driver than a wash cloth.

After that, I got to visit with a dear friend as she showed me around her new place near the lake. It is beautiful and peaceful. We always have a wonderful time talking as she has a curiosity that goes well with mine.

It’s been a good week. Let’s see how this next one goes. See you next time!
